On the General tab of Remote Desktop Connection, click Save As under Connection settings to save the current connection settings to an RDP file. After this, open Run dialog box, type in “ mstsc /l” and hit OK to check the list of all the monitors on the current computer. Enter the IP Address and User name of the host computer to achieve remote control. This will automatically tick the option Use all my monitors for the remote session we mentioned in the last option. Then type in “ mstsc /multimon” and hit OK. Press Win + R to invoke the Run dialog box. If you have the dual screen for the remote computer, then you can see both on your local computer. Back to the General tab, then enter the IP Address and User name of the host computer to achieve remote control. Locate the Display tab and then check Use all my monitors for the remote session. On the local computer, search remote desktop connection in the search box and then open it. ![]() RDP can’t be used when the two devices are on different networks unless you set up a port forwarding or use a VPN. Please find out the PC name for Remote Desktop as well. RDP also requires the PC name of the remote computer. Please find out the IP address of the remote computer in advance. RDP requires an IP address to achieve a remote connection. Before starting, you need to check whether you have enabled a remote connection to this computer or not. Windows Single Language and Windows Home editions cannot receive incoming Remote Desktop Connections. RDP only supports remote connection to higher Windows editions (Professional and Enterprise).
